(I don't usually like sappy quotes, but this one describes my
relationships with a lot of friends)

to hold hands because they know the other hand will always be there." --unknown
Friends Info
Yes, I know. This is neither comprehensive nor up-to-date. Sorry folks. I try, but there are only so many hours to the day. Enjoy what's here, and forgive me if you feel you are missing from "the list." Because this is not an exclusive list.
Andy,computer geek, &
philosopher.
Andy taught me the basics of html code
my freshman year, and
so I'm pretty grateful.
Angela, I don't have an electronic picture, but she's a great friend of mine from Kalamazoo. Best part? We weren't really friends IN college, but have bonded since she moved to DC. She works in PR, has a killer set of accessories.
Becky's Page,
my best friend from K. She's an English major,a theater buff, sings "Part of
Your World" from The Little Mermaid like you have never heard it sung before
(it's that incredible), and has been a guest on Erin's Tiki Room (my old radio
show) where she taught my listeners the basics on how to stalk. She went to Bonn
Germany (while I was in Erlangen) for foreign study. Her biggest advice from
Bonn? Be sure you have proper "dancing shoes," meaning platform shoes (men too).
Becky and I have a fascination for ultra cheesy things like the movie Clueless
(yes, Becky is saving herself for Luke Perry), The Spice Girls, and All Saints.
We also love the movie Singles, because we both have dyslexic hearts.
Evel (Evelyn if you really want to call her that)is
another good friend of mine from Kalamazoo College. Evel was a bio-psych major
& did her SIP on animal behavior. She ran a lot of rats through water mazes
(no, I didn't just dream that one up). Evel went to Kenya for foreign study
& has had a fascination with break-away pants ever since. The thing she
misses about Kenya the most? Getting proposed to on a regular basis. Her
greatest weakness? Don't ever put Vanilla Ice on unless you want to see her
dance. She's currently living in Delaware & doing whatever it is that people
do in Delaware.
Jeannie, good friend in DC. Be on the lookout for future
pictures! She is the co-founder of the Washington Wine Academy, and works as a wine lobbiest. When she's not off racing to the best wine regions in the world, she's throwing fabulous gatherings.
Kia, good friend in DC. I've been friends with Kia as long as I
remember living in DC. She has this amazing aura about her. This photo is from a hiking trip in 2000.
Kyla ,
the longest roommate that I ever had at K. You can call here Kyla Shoppe, since
her marriage to Chris Shoppe in October 1999. She's now living in Ohio and
teaching while enjoying the newly-wed's life. Kyla went to Spain for foreign
study & danced till dawn on a regular basis. We rende-vous'ed (or shall I
say rende-tu'ed) in Paris for Christmas. The picture I have of her is in Paris
at a fondue restaurant. They serve wine out of baby bottles at the place, so
don't think she's crazy!
My ex-apartment-mate Lisa and another best friend from K. If you
ever want to shoot the breeze with anyone, she talks a lot about it, so I assume
she really knows how. Lisa was an English major & writes really cool
poetry. She now works as an assistant editor for WeightWatcher's Magazine in NYC!
Lisa's weakness? Seven-layers from Taco Bell.
Loung, my good friend in DC. She is the national
spokesperson for the Campaign for a Landmine free World, and is an author. Her
first book, First They Killed My Father, is her amazing true story. Loung
has been engaged for a while now & I hope her & Mark the best.
Loung's biggest weaknesses? Dim Sum brunches, and watching (what I sometimes think of as) cheesy movies.
Veronika, an ex-coworker of mine from Ernst & Young a
good friend and my apartment-mate in DC.
She no longer works for E&Y.
Instead she's at AOL & loving it. She's also engaged to Peter (bout time!) And I'm looking forward to the wedding in August, 2003.
